Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common gastrointestinal disorder that requires long-term management. It presents with symptoms such as cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and either diarrhea, constipation, or both. In chronic cases, symptoms like nighttime diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and unexplained vomiting may occur.
In Ayurveda, IBS is explained as a condition caused by weakened digestive fire (Agni), leading to improper digestion and elimination of partially digested or undigested food particles.
